
Q: Do you reflow video chips?
A: We certainly have the equipment to do reflows but we do not, it is an
inferior cheap process that only prolongs the inevitable and not very long.
In some cases making the next repair either more difficult or near
impossible due to potential damage to the BGA chip. It is always recommended
to re-ball video chips, and remove the reason for the failure to begin
with.
Q: Do I have to send my power supply and a/c adapter in when I
purchase a service?
A: For all laptops its a good idea to send everything in so that we can
thoroughly examine and insure that all your stuff is working when you
receive it back.
Q: What is Board Level(Component level Repair) consist of?
A: Board level repair or component level repair is simply the ability to
test and repair or replace soldered components on the motherboard. This
means at any level, whether it is a simple dc jack or a BGA(video,
Controller) chip Minor soldering to most motherboards (please call our
service center if you have further questions.
Q: Is the $95 DC jack repair the only thing I will pay for dc
jack repair?
A: The $95 dc jack repair service includes all costs except specialty
jacks, this service is a "same day turn around" service.
Q: What does the $125 dollar
Laptop Repair service fee include?
A: Diagnostic testing, and most labor (Please note parts are not included
with the service fee, and this only applies to specific models in the HP,
Dell, Toshiba line of laptops.)
Q: What Payment Methods does BCS accept?
A: BCS accepts any major credit card (Visa, Master Card, or Discover we
also accept PayPal payments. At the moment BCS does not accept
American Express etc.)

A: Yes, you may drop off and or mail-in your laptop to be serviced at the
Milpitas location. You can pick up your serviced laptop at our Milpitas
location Mon-Fri from 8am-4pm PST.

Do you buy my non-repairable laptop if I should not want to fix it for some
reason?
A: We certainly can,
we can apply and money you owe us for the repair to the sale of the laptop
to us.

Q: What is the average turnaround time on a laptop repair:
A: Average turnaround time is 10-15 business days.
Q: What is the repair process like?
A: All the machines sent in to us go through a 3 step process.
Step A: Receiving and inspection: Once your laptop comes in, our
receiving dept will check in the laptop and notify you that the laptop is
now in our possession. What damages we have found, we take note of all items
good and bad with the laptop when we receive it. We keep detailed photos of
damage and or things that we have noticed pulling apart your laptop that was
done either by you or someone else to attempt repairs.
Step B: Your laptop is then tested to verify the reasons for failure,
that you have stated in your attached note. when then break down the laptop
and it goes through an assembly line process to be repaired. Our technicians
will be in contact with you through the repair process. Technicians will
give you a full report once repairs have been completed, and advise
you on what we are doing next. Technician will not install or wipe or do
anything with anyone's hard drives or OS. We will always call for your
consent prior to doing anything.
Step C. Once your laptop is repaired. We will burn it for 24hrs. before
sending it back to you. You will then be contacted or transferred to our
sales team to verify your shipping information, preferred shipping method
and any additional fees that may apply due to upgrades or additional
hardware replacement. When your laptop goes out you will receive an email
form us with a tracking number of your package.
Q: BCS Suppliers?
A: All service parts are original, we will get unavailable parts form our
vendors direct in China.
Q: Is my laptop worth fixing?
A: Some times it makes no sense, but unfortunately we cannot determine
this for you. Some many things should be consider before you abandoned the
repair, please call us if you have questions and need to discuss this.
Q: Is my Data safe?
A: Yes, however a lot of times when systems fail the OS or hard drives
becomes corrupt, so a repair or reinstall is necessary, we will never
perform these repair without your consent.
Q: Do you sell used laptops?
A: Yes we do low cost refurbished laptops for all uses, personal,
business and or school student laptops.
